The Soul of a Ceremony

At the heart of Ethiopian life is the coffee ceremony—a sacred ritual of hospitality, connection, and peace.

Freshly roasted beans are ground by hand and brewed in a traditional jebena (clay pot) over coals. The ceremony unfolds in three intentional rounds, each one deepening the bond between those who share it:

Where It All Began

Legend has it that a goat herder named Kaldi first discovered coffee when his goats began to dance after nibbling on bright red cherries. From these simple beginnings in the highlands of Ethiopia grew a worldwide love affair with coffee.

Today, Ethiopia is not only the birthplace of coffee but also the guardian of its most cherished variety: Arabica coffee. Over 70% of the world’s coffee begins here, nurtured by Ethiopia’s rich soil and unmatched biodiversity.

“The jebena ceremony is more than brewing coffee—it's a sacred ritual that brings people together, fostering community bonds and spiritual connection.”

Through every pour, every sip, and every shared silence, we don't just drink coffee—we honor tradition, celebrate community, and keep a timeless story alive.
